Frequently Asked Questions... and their answers 😉

In general, COVID measures and restrictions have been lifted, but we would kindly ask you to be courteous and respectful to each other and therefore to follow this guidance:

  • please self-test for COVID before travel
  • don’t travel if you’re already sick
  • if you develop symptoms of sickness over the weekend, please reach out to us, separate from the group and wear a mask in all public facilities in the hotel.
  • kindly bring a small supply in masks as precaution for the case that you may need them.
  • if you don’t feel fully safe, we encourage you to wear a mask whenever you feel it necessary

English is the language of all presentations, official correspondence and announcements. All other languages are welcome in between!

We are happy to provide you a nice mix and full span of all Salesforce Clouds, with sessions for Admins, Developers, as well as End Users. More info on the agenda to come soon!

This is up to you! There will certainly be opportunities to exchange Salesforce knowledge with other peers. You can also take notes the old-fashioned way, of course (just wait for the swag!). But maybe you can also get by with a smaller, lighter tablet or even just your smartphone.

Go for comfort and some business casual. This is not really the weekend to wear your snazziest high heels. Therefore, pack some comfortable shoes (and your ski boots!?). After all, we are in Tyrolean hut at an altitude of 1940 meters above sea-level – remember that you don’t address people formally in the Austrian mountains.

Check-in is officially possible from 3 PM onwards. Make yourself comfortable and socialize with other Trailblazers if you arrive earlier. Please try to be on time for dinner at 6 PM, as the sessions will also start at 7:30 PM.

The cozy bedrooms with solid wood panelling have all free internet access, TV, shower and toilet, hair dryer and towel dryer. Charging stations are available at various locations in the Trailblazer Hotel. Bring your charging cables so you can power up throughout each day, or bring extra batteries (for the slopes). Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, the “Diamond of the Alps”, is one of Alps’ best and snow-surest ski areas despite being a non-glacier ski resort. It has 112 kilometers of superb sunny slopes between 1800 and 3080m for all ability levels and preferences and state-of-the-art mountain lifts without any waiting times.

The ski pass is valid for both, Obergurgl and Hochgurgl, which are connected by the 8-person Top Express gondola lift. You can download the ski area map as PDF here. The official website is www.obergurgl.com. Also download the Android app or go to app download for iPhones here.

While the Top Mountain Star at 3080m is the most spectacular place to meet for drinks (no food available except for pretzels, meeting point from 11-12 on Saturday), we can recommend the Hohe Mut Alm for lunch (meeting from 1-2 PM on Saturday).

We recommend to bring your own equipment. Otherwise there are plenty of equipment rentals for a fair price, the most convenient one being Scheiber Sport S1 (15 % online discount), located just 5 minutes from the hotel at the base of Hohe-Mut-Bahn – Rosskarbahn Obergurgl.

If you are not among the early birds who have a ski pass included for Saturday (will be provided at breakfast by 9 AM), you can check out the rates here.

You can do some snow-shoe walking, Nordic walking or mountaineering. Otherwise just relax in the sauna, enjoy a coffee and cake in the conservatory. For the healthy body, the center has its own sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin and even a basic fitness room.

This nonprofit event has been organized by the Salesforce Community in spare time. However, the venue, food, and many other things need to be paid. Thanks to the amazing sponsors, it was even possible to apply a discount on the final ticket!

Have a burning question that we haven’t covered here? Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Skiforce Team <team@skiforce.co> or engage in the Trailblazer Community Group.
